Outtakes

These are a set of outtakes from our opening, overall there was 44 minutes of outtakes, I have shortened and only selected the best ones and shown the ones that portray our production well too.

Use of soundtrack

For the first track in the film we used one that started slow to build up into Karl's introduction. The song was a dupstep remix of the prodigy's song 'breathe'. It was a song with an urban type feel. 

The second tune was an; instrumental of a remix of the prodigy's remix of plan B's ill manors. We felt that plan B's ill manors was the right song for our running scene as it created suspense then after we made a pause for Lewis's line 'get him', the drop and beat after that was appropriate for the chase scene(s).

For the last track we felt we needed a fast paced dub step sounding track and we found Hostiles - recognition (teaser) on a mixtape website. we felt it was a good  build up towards the end scene (fight scene) .

Music/soundtrack

Music is a vital part in our film, for suspense, action and the drama.We used the best music we thought appropriate for our film. After a lot of trialling and testing we found the songs we found suited the film correctly. 

At first we were going to use one track throughout the film, which was a track we created ourselves. Then we tried different songs all the way through. In the end we decided to three songs in the film to change the speed and mood of each scene. each song apart from Hostile's dubstep track at the end is a remix.

Scene 1 Pencoed Massive hangout;

Winty - Yo blud, wheres Kraftee?
Benjy - Dunno bruv, probably on his way
Winty - Give him a ring man inneh?

Scene 2 Phone scene;

kraftee - Yo blud you allright?
Benjy -  Yo where you too?
Kraftee - Just down my ends cotching bruv
Benjy -  watch your back Brynna side hood are on us you get me?
Kraftee - Yeah im on my way usual place HQ yeah?
Benjy - Hurry up yeah?

Scene 3 Gang scene;

Gore - Woah, was that Kraftee!
Jimm - Was that him though?
Teezy -  Yeah that's the one that started beef the other day, innit?
Gore - Certain man gonna get murked

Editing and Adding Titles

Effects Editing

During the final stages of editing the sequences of our film, I thought about adding an effect to the film to try and make it appear more urban.

I thought of a sepia - posterised effect like this as it portrays an urban image well, but we decided it was too extreme

 instead i decreased the brightness and fiddled about with other effects like that, just to give it a slightly more edgier look. which in the end i decided to use.

we are editing the final cut of our film! we are adding all the appropriate music and playing with the effects to see which one will make our film look good. we used iMovie 09 to edit our film. using iMovie was hard as we had problems with macs as they kept freezing. we also thought there was not enough effects and sounds on there to suit our needs.

Film Titles and credits

We decided to include credits such as the director and some of the actors featured in the film in our opening, we thought it would add more to the drama and the chase scene in the film. We thought the credits would suit the film and the genre it represents. 

We added the titles and credits mainly next to the actors when their name appears but in most cases we just added them where there was space or where we thought it would look good.  We looked for an urban-looking font but found 'cracked' which we thought would suit the film.
